An area coordinator is able to organize the sequence of the outfitting works (piping, cabling, steel outfitting, HVAC, etc.) and the manpower on the spot. They ensure on board in their area that the correct sequence of works is used, that missing pieces are prioritized with the workshops and procurement, that people have the material and tools that they need, that material is sorted and prepared in a logic way, have scaffolding for their works, have crane support when required, in short, keep the workers busy and efficient. Therefore an area coordinators should be a skilled practical person with a good technical baggage and organizational skills. He is also able to work closely together with the commissioning teams to prioritize works in function of the commissioning planning of the vessel.
